I've taken pictures of this crew many, many times. The oddly warm weather means we can shoot portraits even in the middle of winter...

Their dads raced each other back in the glory days and the families were rivals of sorts. Ironically, Kyle Vanover wound up married to Shauna Legg. If that's not a great story Romeo-and-Juliet story I don't know what is.

My dynamic duo from back home (my home). Love when people show up ready to rock their engagement pictures.

The owners of Whiskey Creek opened a new venture a few weeks ago -- it's the Rita Cantina Tex Mex & Tequila Bar in Kearney. They revamped an older building off of the interstate and added some Southwestern flair. The people are nice and the food is great, so be sure to stop by if you're in town.

I met Kaylee and Luis at Luis's sister's wedding a couple of years ago -- it was at a barn out in Aurora. Now, Kaylee and Luis are tying the knot, this time out in Hastings. It promises to be an equally amazing event and I can't wait to see them again.

You've probably heard of The Knot. It's one of the most popular wedding-related sites on the Web. And we made their featured weddings page! It's a nice bit of exposure not just for 40 Nights Photography, but for Tara Lynn Bridal, who made Gabby's amazing dress. You can check out the post here.

Winter pretty much passed us by this year. Typically I don't have many outdoor shoots in January and February, but with the mostly mild weather I've been shooting regularly. A couple of weeks ago I veered all over southeastern Nebraska (and parts of Iowa) with Erica and Michael. Here's a quick peek.

I was lucky enough to get my new year started off right thanks to Joe and Lauren. We have had so much fun taking pictures together in the past year. Although we didn't get any of the romantic snow that Lauren wanted (it was dry and more than 50 degrees) we did stay warm and dry, and no one had any issues getting to the wedding. Here are a few outtakes.
