I met Kaylee and Luis at Luis's sister's wedding a couple of years ago -- it was at a barn out in Aurora. Now, Kaylee and Luis are tying the knot, this time out in Hastings. It promises to be an equally amazing event and I can't wait to see them again.
You've probably heard of The Knot. It's one of the most popular wedding-related sites on the Web. And we made their featured weddings page! It's a nice bit of exposure not just for 40 Nights Photography, but for Tara Lynn Bridal, who made Gabby's amazing dress. You can check out the post here.
Winter pretty much passed us by this year. Typically I don't have many outdoor shoots in January and February, but with the mostly mild weather I've been shooting regularly. A couple of weeks ago I veered all over southeastern Nebraska (and parts of Iowa) with Erica and Michael. Here's a quick peek.
I was lucky enough to get my new year started off right thanks to Joe and Lauren. We have had so much fun taking pictures together in the past year. Although we didn't get any of the romantic snow that Lauren wanted (it was dry and more than 50 degrees) we did stay warm and dry, and no one had any issues getting to the wedding. Here are a few outtakes.
John and Megan are from Ogallala but decided to have their ceremony and reception in Lincoln. They opted for the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend, and if you live around here, you know the weather that day was unbelievably nice. Late November days in Lincoln can be downright nasty; two weeks earlier we were stuck with single-digit temperatures. But the day of the wedding? It was right around 75 degrees, with plenty of sun and a manageable breeze. If that's not a good sign for your marriage I don't know what is.
Wow, I am crazy far behind on blog posts and I'll be spending the next few weeks catching up. Here are a few from the party that was Jeff and Lacey's wedding out in Ord. They have one of the cutest kids (Aydin) I've seen in a while.
I'm a writer/photographer with extensive publishing experience. You'll find portfolios of my photography work at www.40nightscreative.com. I will happily send writing samples upon request.
