Gabby & Braden | A Magical Barn Wedding in Aurora, Nebraska

Braden and Gabby got married just this past weekend. At first, the weather forecast looked downright dismal. There were violent-looking dark clouds, high winds and intermittent torrential rain. Twice, we had to cut formal pictures short to keep my equipment dry. During the ceremony, wind gusts blew people all over the place. And then, almost like magic, the clouds cleared and the wind died to a breeze. It was a pretty amazing day all around.

A Testimonial with Muscle

I take photography really seriously, so it's nice when people understand that I'm pouring my heart into it. I received these kind words from Andy and Kara.

"We were recommended to 40 Nights for our wedding photos by a family friend, and we couldn't be happier. The initial meeting with Nathan wasn't the sales oriented meeting that we had with other photographers, but a conversation on how important our wedding pictures were to us. He was very low pressure, open about his artistic style and brought his portfolio to showcase the types of pictures he takes. We were surprised to see how easily we interacted together, and felt very at home with him, both professionally and stylistically. We planned for out engagement photos around UNL campus, a place special to both my wife and I, and Nathan was excited to utilize the spaces that it offers. It was a comforting feeling to have our photographer be as excited about taking our pictures as we were about have them taken. I was amazed at how well he could see that artistry in the areas that we shot, using depth, shadows, and natural framing to complement our placement. It wasn't until after we had received our CD back (in about 2 days) that we could truly see how wonderful they were. He had managed to help us create a visual representation of ourselves that comes through in the pictures as the people we truly are. The package that we chose for the wedding included a full day with Nathan, and I am glad that we went with that option. He was prompt and efficient with all of the family and 'traditional' wedding photos, but was always aware that the entire event revolved around us. He even helped us re-shoot some of my parents' 46-year-old wedding photos, remaking them with remarkable precision. With the hustle and bustle that surrounded everything that we had to do that day, I was glad that Nathan was there to help focus our attention on what really mattered, each other. Several times throughout the day, my wife and I would run off with Nathan for a half an hour to add a few more shots to the growing album. The changing daylight, progression of scenery, and continuation of the event was seamless as it tied together the entirety of our wedding day. It wasn't just the ceremony, dinner, or the reception that we had pictures of, but all of it wrapped up as a visual story of our love on the day we got married. When we received our CD, once again in only a couple of days, we were absolutely amazed at how well everything turned out. The traditional photos were taken strikingly well, and the ceremony shots captured the emotion of the moment. I was equally impressed by the shots that we had taken on a short excursions, they held an artistry that I hadn't expected and couldn't grasp when in front of the camera. They ranged from soul touching to exceptionally whimsical, a fitting range for my wife and I. I can't recommended Nathan and 40 Nights Photography highly enough. Our photos are absolutely perfect." - Kara and Andy

Kevin & Jessica | Engagement pictures in Wahoo, NE

I saw Kevin and Jessica twice in the span of one week. Once for the engagement session, and then for their wedding. I have to say it was an awfully fun week. Here are a few from our first round together.
